Ursula Paludan
Monberg

Ursula Paludan Monberg graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2005 with natural horn as her principal study. She continued her studies at the Formation Superieure at the Abbaye aux Dames, Saintes, France and in the Soloist class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen, with her official debut in 2010.

From 2007 to 2013 Ursula was principal horn for Concerto Copenhagen under the direction of Lars Ulrik Mortensen. In 2012 she was appointed principal horn of The English Concert and tours extensively with the ensemble in Europe and the US. Moreover, she is a frequent guest principal for Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestre des Champs Elysees, Capella Cracovienses, The Mozartist etc. Ursula has been a part of Jonathan Cohen’s critically acclaimed ensemble Arcangelo since its inception and together they released the album ‘the early horn’ on Hyperion in 2020:

Ursula is a keen teacher and loves introducing new players to the wonders of the early horns. Recent masterclasses include: The Coburn School, LA, Hogskolan for Scen och Musik, Gothenburg, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Royal Danish Academy of Music. Ursula is part of the faculty as natural horn teacher at Lund University in Sweden, Royal Northern College of Music and has recently been appointed as natural horn teacher at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
