All content published and made available on this site is the property of Association québécoise du cor and its creators. This includes, but is not limited to, images, texts, logos, documents, downloadable files and everything that contributes to the composition of this site. 

 

Accounts

When you create an account on our site, you agree to the following: 

  1. that you are solely responsible for your account and the security and confidentiality of your account, including any passwords or sensitive information attached to it, and

  2. that all personal information you provide through your account is current, accurate and truthful and that you will update your personal information if it changes.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you use our site illegally or violate the acceptable use policy.

Sales of goods and services

This document governs the sale of services made available on our site.

The services we offer include: 

  1. IHS55 registrations (participants, exhibitors, guests, etc.)

  2. Purchase of concert tickets

  3. Purchase of meal plans or other services

The services related to this document are the services that are posted on our site at the time you access it. Any information, descriptions or images we provide about our services are described and presented as accurately as possible. However, we are not legally bound by such information, descriptions or images because we cannot guarantee the accuracy of every product or service we provide. You agree to purchase these services at your own risk. 

 

Payments

We accept the following payment methods on this site: 

  1. Credit Cards

When you provide us with your payment details, you are confirming that you have authorized the use of and access to the payment instrument you have chosen to use. By providing us with your payment details, you are confirming that you authorize us to charge the amount due to that payment instrument. 

If we believe that your payment has violated any law or our terms of use, we reserve the right to cancel your transaction. 

Purchases will be billed in full at the time of order.

 

Refunds

Refund requests may be made until May 31, 2023. No refunds will be accepted after this date. Ticketing fees are not refundable.

Limitation of liability

The Association québécoise du cor or any of its representatives will be held responsible for any problems arising from this site. Nevertheless, Association québécoise du cor and its representatives will not be held responsible for any problem arising from any irregular use of this site.

Indemnity

As a user, you hereby indemnify Association québécoise du cor from any and all liability, costs, causes of action, damages or expenses arising out of your use of this site or your breach of any of the provisions set forth herein.

Applicable Laws

This document is subject to the applicable laws of Canada and is intended to comply with its necessary rules and regulations.

For EU residents, the GDPR is the applicable law governing this document. In the event of any inconsistency between any provision of this document and the GDPR, the rules of the GDPR shall prevail.

Severability

If at any time any of the provisions set forth in this document are found to be inconsistent or invalid under applicable law, such provisions shall be deemed void and shall be removed from this document. All other provisions shall not be affected by such laws and the remainder of this document shall continue to be considered valid. 

 

Additional provisions

COVID-19

In order to protect the health and safety of participants, exhibitors, artists, employees and volunteers, health measures and rules have been put in place: 

  1. Any attendee, exhibitor, artist, volunteer or employee who experiences symptoms of COVID-19 is asked not to attend the IHS55

  2. The choice to wear a mask is at the discretion of each individual.

  3. Participants, exhibitors, artists, employees and volunteers are encouraged to follow basic hygiene and respiratory etiquette.

  4. Participants, exhibitors, artists, staff and volunteers agree to comply with all sanitary measures in effect during the International Horn Symposium 2023 (IHS55)

 

Participants, exhibitors, artists, employees or volunteers arriving from outside Canada are invited to check the conditions of entry to Canada before traveling: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizen.

 

Furthermore, the Association québécoise du cor is committed to respecting all sanitary measures in effect at the time of the symposium.

 

Other requirements

  • Contributing artists must be registered for the full week of the IHS.

  • Participants wishing to participate in the competitions must be registered for the full week of the IHS. 

 

Authorization for Use of Image, Voice and Performance

Any participant, exhibitor, artist, employee or volunteer:

a) agrees that Association québécoise du cor may use, at its sole discretion, the Participant's Image, Voice and Performances for promotional and broadcast purposes.

 

b) irrevocably and exclusively assigns to the Association québécoise du cor, for the entire world and for the entire duration of the protection of the rights (and any extension, if applicable), all its rights to its Voice and Performances. These assigned rights include, but are not limited to, copyright, performer's rights (so-called neighbouring rights) and the right to remuneration for private use copies. In addition, the Participant irrevocably and exclusively authorizes the Association québécoise du cor, for the entire world and for the entire duration of the protection of the rights (and any extension, if applicable) to use his or her Image for purposes of broadcasting, promotion and advertising.

 

c) agrees that the decision to use or not to use his or her Image, Voice and Performances belongs entirely to the Association québécoise du cor

 

d) undertakes not to act, directly or indirectly, in a manner that would be contrary to any of the purposes of this Agreement or that could in any way infringe on the rights assigned. 

Association québécoise du cor is solely entitled to enter into any agreement relating to the exploitation of the Image, Voice and Performances, by any means and on any medium whatsoever. For example, Association québécoise du cor may assign or transfer to a third party the benefit and obligations hereunder.

If required, the parties agree to execute or cause to be executed any document or to do or cause to be done any other act that either party may reasonably request, for the purpose of completing or giving full effect to this Agreement.

Modifications

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to the way we operate our site and the way we expect users to behave on our site. We recommend that our users check these terms and conditions from time to time to ensure that they are aware of any updates. If necessary, we will notify users by email of changes to these terms and conditions or post a notice on our site.
