Life has been good to me, although not
without difficulties. After graduating from engineering school, I have been employed in manufacturing,
product development, and sales; now providing mechanical power transmission equipment. One wife, now
divorced. Two kids, educated and married, one grandchild on the way. Lived in Indianapolis and the
Chicago suburbs. One year hitch in the Army. Play violin with Scandinavian fiddle group, sing in
chorale, bike, read, religion, politics. Doing motorcycle trips to alaska, and enjoying it. |

Its a wonderful feeling coming across our class web-site and rediscovering my class, after being out-of-contact these years since graduation. I do remember running into Fred Enfield in downtown Newark shortly after graduation, then unbeknownst to both of us, we lived within 10 miles of each other when I lived in Santa Monica, and he in Malibu during the 60's. I am married 50 years to Henry Martone, an engineer, who owns his own firm. Our son Daniel is also an engineer, and son Chris is an oral surgeon. We have six grandchildren (one is deceased). I attended Chatham College for Women, and Seton Hall. And, worked for NJ Workman's Comp Bureau, Chrysler and Alcoa Corporations, and our own Martone Engineering. |

After IHS, I had a basketball scholarship to St. Lawrence University. The fieldhouse reminded me the old IHS gym complete with a low ceiling and track overhead. I decided not to go out for the team. My life and marriage for 35 years consumed two previous wives. Currently happily married to my third and living a good life. Been in Plano for 7 years. I have had many careers: truck leasing and parts, flashlight manufacturing, investment and industrial real estate, municipal bond sales and financial planning. My third wife and I have traveled the world -- except Asia. We've been to Africa, Galopogos Islands, New Zealand/Australia, Alaska, Panama Canal, Rhine River cruise, etc. We have 4 dogs, trade horses -unsuccessfully, play golf, and still manage investment accounts without a fee. Still love sports -- particularly NY Giants, NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks . |

After working a few years before starting
college, and all in the space of one month in 1961; I graduated
FDU with an advertising/marketing degree, was honorably discharged
from USNR, moved to California, and married Marion Genovese (IHS
'57). Marion had just graduated from Douglass College (Rutgers)
New Brunswick. After a few years in the newspaper and defense industries,
I graduated UCLA with an MBA in marketing/advertising in '65, and
went to work for Flying Tigers doing international advertising and
marketing until the merger with FedEx in '89. I was responsible
for FedEx Asian advertising, and also marketing for Australasia
and Pacific Islands '89-'93. Did a stint in FedEx air freight
marketing and advertising '93-97 in Memphis, TN, while "commutercating"
back to Malibu/Calabasas where Marion remained. I retired
in December '97 and moved shortly there after to Pismo Beach, CA.
Marion retired from 36 years with the LA Unified School District
as a master teacher, trainer-coordinator, and middle school lobbyist;
was Calif. State Middle School teacher of the year in '89, LAUSD
teacher of the year in '90, and received other awards including
a commendation from the City of LA. She is now a docent at the Morro
Bay Natural History Museum and Estuary.
I plan all the trips, and do art renderings for Marion's docent publications. We continue to travel internationally and domestically in retirement as we did when working. We keep up with and visit high school, college, and business friends all around the world. Our son David is a doctor, and daughter Adrienne is a web design manager in a dot-com. Two grandchildren, Max, 4 years old, and Delfina, 4 months old in 2010.
